If you haven’t already heard, PayPal has backtracked and posted an update on their blog regarding their policies on erotica.
I would like to take the time to thank Mark Coker, founder of Smashwords for speaking up for erotica authors. He took the time to listen to erotica authors and skillfully took our case to PayPal, getting amazing results!
The erotica community is a wonderful group of people that came together and stood up to a corporate bully and I am proud to be a part of it! Authors and readers stood as one, blogging, tweeting and emailing to get the message out. We should all pat ourselves on the back, the censors heard us loud and clear.
Unfortunately, the fight against censorship is never truly over so while we celebrate our victory, we should always remain alert to anyone who wants to suppress our right to express ourselves.
